Hello and welcome to my little corner of the World Wide Web. My name is Jim and I am a journalist living in London, England. I write about what is really going on in this city — the good bits, the bad bits, and the bits the people in charge would rather you didn't ask about.
You can send me an electronic mail at:
jim@londoncentric.media
You can also find me on LinkedIn and Bluesky.
I try to reply to everyone eventually.
I run a publication called London Centric. It is all about London. If you live in London, or have ever been to London, or are simply curious about London, I think you will enjoy it. You can even get it sent to you multiple times a week by electronic mail, which is quite something.
It was founded in September 2024. The New Yorker said it's "attempting to fill the void left by the collapse of local news in the city". Monocle says it publishes "agenda-setting investigations". We've won the Orwell Prize for Reporting Homelessness and the Wincott Prize for best regional business and finance journalism. We've also been shortlisted for Private Eye's Paul Foot Award for investigative journalism.
Before that I worked as media editor of the Guardian and political editor of BuzzFeed UK. I've also presented programmes for the BBC, drawing on my deep understanding of modern technology. I'm also a proponent of high quality web design.
Here are some sites I think are worth a visit:
London Centric — my publication (I may be biased)
Diamond Geezer — "The Samuel Pepys of London blogging"
Ian Visits — "The man who knows when things are happening"
Transport for London — to find out why your train isn't coming
The Mayor of London — keep an eye on him
